Je begint bergopwaarts te wandelen, omringd door prachtige bergen, met de aanwezigheid van lama&#8217;s, alpaca&#8217;s en een prachtig uitzicht op de Piuray-lagune tot je de enige bergpas bereikt op 4500 m \/ 14760 ft. Je daalt dan ongeveer 01 uur langs een gerestaureerde Inca Trail af naar de kleine Andesgemeenschap Pukamarca (4010 m \/ 13153 ft). Vanaf daar loop je bergafwaarts naar het Leon Punku-ravijn, waar je overblijfselen van een Incabrug en -pad zult vinden. Deze kloof heeft geologische formaties omringd door majestueuze rotsen en rotsblokken die de rivier naar Huchuy Qosqo leiden op 3600 meter hoogte. U komt daar aan het begin van de middag aan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Huchuy Qosqo<\/strong> is een Inca-archeologisch complex met imposante architectuur met een groot open ceremonieel centrum, vanwaar je een panoramisch uitzicht hebt over de Heilige Vallei, de Vilcanota-rivier en de besneeuwde bergketen met dezelfde naam. Terwijl je in het complex bent, ontvang je een rondleiding, waarna je je weg vervolgt naar Lamay op 3000 m \/ 9840 ft. Lamay is een stad gewijd aan landbouw.
