De Valle Sagrado (Heilige Vallei) was een zeer belangrijk gebied voor de Inca\u2019s, omdat het land vruchtbaar is door de vele rivieren die afdalen in de vallei. <strong>Het belangrijkste gewas was en is nog steeds ma\u00efs.<\/strong> Ru\u00efnes&nbsp;van Inca forten en -heiligdommen, kleurrijke markten, charmante stadjes. Het hele gebied tussen het dorp Pisaq en de ru\u00efnestad Ollantaytambo&nbsp; parallel aan <strong>de&nbsp;Urubamba rivier noemt heilige vallei,<\/strong> en eindigt min of meer in&nbsp;Machu Picchu. Pisaq is op ongeveer 45 min rijden van Cusco. Prachtige Inca ru\u00efnes en kleurrijke markt van Pisac. We rijden door Calca, Urubamba, tot Ollantaytambo.&nbsp;Na de lunch in Urubamba bezoek je het Inca-stadje Ollantaytambo, bijzonder omdat het bovenop originele Incahuizen is gebouwd. Het fort met zijn vele terrassen, pleinen en tempels is d\u00e9 trekpleister van het stadje.&nbsp; De plaats is vernoemd naar Ollanta, de Inca generaal. Op de terugweg naar Cusco, bezoeken we <strong>Chincheros ( indien er nog tijd over is) De bewoners dragen hier nog traditionele kledij en staat bekend voor zijn weverijen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Tip1:<\/span>&nbsp;<\/b>Het is ook mogelijk om, in plaats van terug naar Cusco te rijden, in Ollantaytambo achter te blijven en hier te overnachten. Dan ben je alvast wat dichter bij Machu Picchu en hoef je de 2 h rijden geen 2 keer te doen ! Dan bezoek je geen Chinchero !&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b><span style=\"color: #993300;\">Tip2 :<\/span>&nbsp;<\/b><span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">Als je direct uit&nbsp;<\/span>Lima<span style=\"font-family: inherit;\">&nbsp;naar Cusco vliegt, is het aan te raden om eerst naar de heilige vallei te gaan.
