Transfer naar de haven van Puno.&nbsp;De drijvende Uros eilanden&nbsp;zijn kunstmatige eilanden gemaakt van het&nbsp;Totora riet &nbsp;die zich bevinden op het&nbsp;Titicaca meer. Ze zijn verankerd met touwen die naar de bodem van het meer lopen. Op een&nbsp;afstand van ongeveer 35 minuten per boot, 14 km vanaf Puno komen we bij de drijvende&nbsp;eilanden van Uros. Het volk van de&nbsp;Uros bouwde deze eilanden oorspronkelijk om de&nbsp;Incas &nbsp;te ontvluchten. De excursie vertrekt \u2018s morgens of \u2019s middags. Vandaag leven er nog ongeveer 3000 nakomelingen van de Uros, hoewel slechts een honderdtal van hen nog steeds op de eilanden leven en deze onderhouden. Er leven gemiddeld 3 tot 6 families op de huidige 87 rieten&nbsp;eilandjes, hun manier van leven op dit moment word grotendeels in stand gehouden door toerisme. De bewoners staan dagelijks op 3820 m hoogte bloot aan een zeer felle zon. \u2018s Avonds koelt de temperatuur af tot rond het vriespunt. Een bezoek aan deze eilanden is, hoewel toeristisch, toch een unieke ervaring en zeer fotogeniek. Als je over het eiland loopt, voel je de zachte grond onder je voeten bewegen. Het riet wordt ook gegeten,,,, als&nbsp;inca banaan. Tegenwoordig spreekt men Aymara, zoals velen volken op de hoogvlakte.
