Met een boot vertrek je om 8 of om 10 AM&nbsp; vanuit het kleine vissersplaatsje Paracas naar de Ballestas eilanden. De Ballestas eilanden maken onderdeel uit van het Paracas Nationaal Park en zijn een bezoek meer dan waard.&nbsp;Om het gevoelige ecosysteem te beschermen mag je niet op de eilanden zelf komen.&nbsp;Ze worden daarom wel eens vergeleken met de kleine Galapagos-eilanden.&nbsp;Met de boot vaar je er dicht langs. De excursie gebeurt met een open, meerpersoons speedboot.&nbsp; Tijdens dit tochtje is het goed mogelijk dat je naast <strong>zeeleeuwen<\/strong> en (Humbold) <strong>pingu\u00efns<\/strong> ook aalscholvers, stormvogels en fregatvogels ziet en ook zie je waarschijnlijk veel vissende pelikanen.&nbsp; Als je echt veel geluk hebt, dan kan je in dit gebied ook walvissen, dolfijnen en zelfs zeeschildpadden bewonderen. Wanneer de wind richting kust waait en je op de boot zit op open water, dan ruik je al snel dat het doel van de trip naderbij komt. Dit komt door de geur van de uitwerpselen (Guano) van de vele vogels en zeeleeuwen die er in dit gebied zijn.&nbsp;Op de heenweg vaart de boot langs de 100 m hoge \u2018Kandelaar\u2019, een grote tekening in het woestijnzand op een heuvel langs de kust.&nbsp;Neem een poncho, petje en zonne creme mee. Ook bescherming tegen spatten voor je camera.
