Carhuaz staat ook bekend om zijn zelfgemaakte ijs gemaakt van fruit en likeuren.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>Yungay werd zwaar getroffen door de aardbeving in 1970 met een lawine van Mt Huascar\u00e1n die de stad begroef. Deze site is nu een gedenkteken dat bekend staat als Campo Santo (heilig land) dat je vervolgens bezoekt.<\/p>\n<p>Stijgend omhoog naar de Quebrada Llanganuco, betreedt u het Huascar\u00e1n National Park en kort na de ingang bereikt u het<strong>&nbsp;ongelooflijke turquoise meer van Chinancocha<\/strong>. Daar heb je de mogelijkheid om een \u200b\u200bkleine wandeling te maken langs de zuidwestelijke oever van het meer en wat foto\u2019s te maken.&nbsp;<strong>Via Yungay dalen we weer af naar de Callejon de Huaylas<\/strong>&nbsp;en rijden we verder noordwaarts naar Caraz. Onderweg is er gelegenheid om te lunchen (niet inbegrepen). In Caraz bezoek je het centrale plein en de kerk, probeer je ook de zoete en heerlijke manjar blanco (gemaakt van gecondenseerde melk). Voor degenen die gewoon willen genieten van het vakmanschap en \/ of wat souvenirs willen kopen, is er een stop bij Tarica op de terugweg naar Huaraz, dat bekend staat om zijn kunst en ambachten, en sluit je dag dan rond 19.00 uur af.
