San Pedro de Atacama<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dit kleine oasedorp, ge\u00efsoleerd in de uitgestrekte Atacama-woestijn, heeft een uitstekende toegang tot de spectaculair bizarre landformaties, waaronder gigantische zandduinen, grillige canyons, zoutpilaren, kokende geisers, een rokende vulkaan en de hooggelegen meren van de noordelijke altiplano. Dit alles heeft San Pedro ertoe aangezet om een \u200b\u200bvan de populairste reisbestemmingen van Noord-Chili te worden.
\nHet dorp zelf, naar schatting gebouwd rond 800 voor Christus. is schilderachtig, ongehaast en gebouwd van adobe baksteen, en er is een zekere zachte charme tussen de schaduwrijke straten en de afbrokkelende oude muren die wegdrijven van de stad en verder in het stof. Veel bezoekers zijn gefascineerd door het spirituele gevoel van vrede van San Pedro, dat niet duidelijker is dan ’s nachts, wanneer de heldere atmosfeer en isolatie uitzicht bieden op de nachtelijke hemel die maar weinig plaatsen op aarde kunnen evenaren.
\nOndanks de golf van toeristen tijdens de zomermaanden, behoudt San Pedro zijn unieke ontspannen sfeer en biedt het een schat aan beschikbare middelen om de boeiende omgeving te verkennen, zoals wandelen, mountainbiken, paardrijden of gewoon sightseeing met een tour busje. Een van de hoogtepunten zijn de geisers in El Tatio (’s werelds hoogste geiser-veld), de flamingo-broedplaatsen van de Salar de Atacama (de grootste zoutvlakte van Chili), talloze vulkanen en natuurlijke warmwaterbronnen, precolumbiaanse archeologische vindplaatsen en andere wereldse landschappen zoals de beroemde Valle de la Luna. Het is ook een toegangspoort tot de oogverblindende zoutvlakte van Bolivia, Salar de Uyuni, die steeds meer een van de meest populaire reiservaringen op het continent wordt.<\/p>\n

Klimaat<\/strong><\/p>\n

Het weer in dit gebied is woestijnachtig in hoogte (Altiplano) en met een duidelijke schommeling. Wintertemperatuur: 22 C overdag en 4 C ’s nachts. Zomertemperatuur: 27 C overdag en 16 C ’s nachts (af en toe regent). Ongeacht het seizoen, het wordt aanbevolen om ’s nachts korte broeken, t-shirts, badkleding, zonnebrandcr\u00e8me en warme kleding mee te nemen.<\/p>\n

Wanneer kom je?<\/strong><\/p>\n

De beste maanden om Atacama te bezoeken zijn van juni tot september, omdat dit de droge maanden zijn en de perfecte blauwe lucht soms af en toe wolken bevat. De zomermaanden kunnen overdag behoorlijk warm zijn.<\/p>\n

Hoe lang?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We raden aan om minimaal drie nachten in San Pedro de Atacama te blijven, die tijd is voldoende om de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden in de omgeving te bezoeken. Als u van plan bent om vanuit Atacama naar Uyuni te vertrekken, overweeg dan de driedaagse tour die dagelijks vertrekt<\/p>\n

Hoe daar te komen?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Met het vliegtuig moet je eerst naar Calama (vanuit Santiago de Chile) vliegen en dan overstappen op San Pedro (98 km). Met de bus heb je toegang tot San Pedro de Atacama vanuit Santiago (20 uur) of vanuit Salta in Argentini\u00eb (13 uur). Een andere manier om naar San Pedro te gaan, is door de driedaagse tour vanuit Uyuni te maken, die hieronder wordt beschreven.<\/p>\n

Slechts 12 km buiten San Pedro en in de Atacama-woestijn ligt de Moon Valley (Valle de Luna), waar gedurende duizenden jaren de wind vreemde, verlaten vormen heeft uitgehouwen die een dramatisch maanlandschap van ge\u00ebrodeerde heuvels hebben gecre\u00eberd, rondom een \u200b\u200bkorstachtige vallei .
