Pumarinri Lodge Tarapoto 3 or 4 days program

Rainforest, rivers and waterfalls form a landscape where green dominates all of the native villages and people who grow coffee, make chocolate, and mold crafts out of clay. Pumarinri offers you all of the possibilities to know about the amazon, either by crossing the waters of bajo mayo or walking in the shadows of the ancient forest.

The Pumarinri has the peculiarity of being a biological bridge, being located at the confluence of the Cerro Escalera Regional Conservation Area and the Cordillera Azul National Park. In addition, three ecosystems of very different characteristics occur alternately along the Huallaga River: the tropical dry forest, the high mountain forest and the low Amazon of the Amazon plain.

The Pumarinri Amazon Lodge is designed following criteria of good environmental practices. With fourteen spacious rooms with terrace or balcony, it offers the best comfort in the middle of the jungle. Water is a very important element: from the white beaches of Huallaga to the fresh streams of Yuracyacu, forming refreshing swimming pools, everything is an invitation to a bath.

Our 3 Days program

From pioneer trees and palm trees to hardwood forest species. Epiphytic plants such as vines, and climbers. Medicinal plants and resins that are used to coat and shine the native pottery. We will come across dart frogs of bright colors, rows of curuhuinsis carrying cut leaves and, of course, and the “respected” Isula ants. Day 3: Boat tour through the Huallaga and Mayo rivers.

The two main rivers of San Martín are the Huallaga and a tributary of this, the Mayo River. In this ride we can see from mountains covered in forests, riverside towns such as Shapaja and cattle farms with zebu from India. In the rainy months, the rivers appear more powerful and full of water. In the summer months, we are invited to enjoy its beaches and its abundant fishing. At all times we will be accompanied by birds, so, with the help of binoculars and a list of the most frequent species, we will become birdwatchers for a day.
