Lagoon Tajzara (Full Day)

Route
DAY: Tarija City – Cuesta de Sama –Iscayachi – Pasajes – Pujzara – Tarija City

We will leave the city of Tarija at 07:00 a.m., the trip to the Tajzara basin is approximately 2 ½ to 3 hours of travel.
First we will cross the Cuesta de Sama which is characterized by its topography of steep slopes, plateaus and high Andean lagoons, we will make a stop at the Tunnel Viewpoint from where we will be able to appreciate a panoramic view of the Tarijeño Valley, we will continue our journey through the Tunnel until we reach the Tarijeño Altiplano .

We will make a second stop in the town called San Lorencito where we can see a unique church built in stone, we will continue towards the town of Iscayachi (This town is characterized by being an extensive plateau area not very cold where potatoes, garlic and others are produced. Andean products). In this place we can enjoy a delicious breakfast to rest from the trip and take pictures.

We will continue through small towns that present a colonial atmosphere until we reach the El Molino Dam and from this place we will begin to climb to the Tajzara Basin, once there we will visit the Lagoon and the Town of Pujzara that present a unique landscape beauty, we will continue towards the Laguna Patanca and the town of Pasajes to reach Laguna Grande where we can take beautiful photographs of the local natural wealth.

We will continue our journey towards the sand dunes that are aeolian sediments that accumulated over the years, forming dunes up to 20 meters high. A formidable place of sight where you can go hiking, these dunes have an area of ​​650 hectares. The population rooted in its culture makes handmade vicuña wool fabrics that are exhibited at the Yuticancha Artisan Center and also at the Pujzara Hostel.

After all this tour they will prepare a delicious lunch for us on the shores of one of the lagoons to enjoy the natural beauty of the place. We will be able to observe different types of birds that live in the lagoons, mainly the James Flamingo, it is distinguished from other species of flamingos by its red legs and the scarlet coloration at the base of the neck and on the back.
After lunch we will have free time to walk and take pictures before returning to the city. The return will be approximately at 02:30 p.m. to arrive in the city at approximately 05:30 p.m.
