In Shimiyacu one reconnects with nature and with oneself. Upon entering you feel the sound of the river; the resonance of the jungle; the unique smell of the forest; and the beauty of the colors that flowers and butterflies give.

We are an ecolodge and we seek to enjoy nature without leaving our mark. We conserve 9 hectares of forest, we use solar energy, we compost, we have biodigesters underground, we reduce, reuse and recycle our waste.

We have private bungalows that are located one away from the other and immersed in nature, so that each guest has their own space of tranquility, peace and harmony with the environment.

Also with a Maloca to enjoy delicious meals or to use the kitchen. Breakfast includes a juice and a salad made from fresh fruits, bread and local coffee. For lunch and food we can ask for the delivery service of several restaurants in the city.

Shimiyacu adjoins the entrance to the Cordillera Escalera reserve. You can see and hear a large number of butterflies, toads, birds, monkeys and other fauna. You can take short walks next to the river or other long ones to waterfalls and a viewpoint. Also the Urko animal rescue center or the orchid garden is a 10 minute walk away.

We have Family Bungalow

Our comfortable and spacious Bungalows for 1 – 5 people have high ceilings made of palm leaf and allow a pleasant climate and feeling inside. They create a private space in the middle of the forest, with a view of nature and the relaxing sound of the river and the jungle. Equipped with 2 bedrooms, one on the first floor with a queen size bed, the other on the mezzanine with extra single and a half beds according to your request. The rooms are fully meshed for insect free sleep. The bungalow has a terrace with an equipped kitchenette, a complete bathroom with hot water, sunlight, a charger for cell phones and equipment and a 220 volt converter on request.

And Bungalow Suit

Spacious and comfortable with a KING size bed (3 places) and the possibility of adding additional beds. It is designed in the Amazonian style that allows a pleasant climate inside. This bungalow is close to the river in the middle of the forest so it has a relaxing sound and a relaxing view. It is equipped with a mosquito net and fully mesh for insect-free sleeping. It has an equipped kitchenette, a complete bathroom with hot water, sunlight, cell phone charger and equipment and, upon request, a 220 volt converter. 

Shimiyacu Relax 4D / 3N Program

DAY 1 – SHIMIYACU AND LAMAS

• Pick up from the airport and transfer to Shimiyacu Lodge.
• Free morning to enjoy the lodge, the hummingbird garden or the Shilcayo river, swim or walk around,
• Optional with a cost of 10 soles each: i) Enter and walk the cordillera staircase reserve next to the lodge; ii) visit the Urko animal rescue center or orchid 15 min.
  15:00 to 19:00 tour to Lamas.

It includes:

• Pick up, transfer and return to Shimiyacu.
• Professional guide.
• Visit of the Plaza de Armas where we will know the history.
• Entrance to the Castillo de Lamas and a tour of its interior.
• Visit the Wayku neighborhood and its indigenous community to know and experience their ancestral culture. You can buy some of its traditional and beautiful crafts.
• Visit to the Chankas museum (optional for 5 soles)
• Stop at the natural viewpoint of La Cruz.

DAY 2 – BLUE LAGOON

• Breakfast at 7.30 am.
• 8:00 am to 6:00 pm tour to the blue lagoon.

It includes:

• Pick up, transfers and return to Shimiyacu.
• Professional guide.
• 2 hour transfer to Laguna Azul with 2 stops; on the Huallaga river to cross it by raft and at the Punta Gallinazo viewpoint to appreciate the green bank of the Huallaga river. The road only offers landscapes.
• 1 hour motor boat ride with breathtaking views.
• Delicious lunch of regional food.
• Time to enjoy the lagoon, bathe, walk and ride a horse.
• Option to practice additional activities (not included in the price) such as kayaking, canopy or jet ski.
• Return at 4:00 pm from the lagoon to arrive at Shimiyacu at 18:00.

DAY 3 – CARPISHUYACU WATERFALL

• Breakfast at 8:30 am.
• 9:00 am to 4:30 pm tour to the Carpishoyacu Waterfall and its hot springs.

It includes:

• Pick up, transfers and return to Shimiyacu.
• Professional guide.
• 40 minute transfer to the waterfall. Beautiful landscapes between green mountains that give us the Cordillera Escalera reserve.
• Entrance fees to the waterfall.
• 45 minute trek through the jungle. We will go through slopes with stairs that are enabled; we will arrive at the thermal baths and we will cross a small river with a raft. The place is the habitat of different species of flora and fauna such as frogs, butterflies, orchids, birds, memorable plants among others. Time to enjoy a relaxing bath between the wide pools of the waterfall and the thermal baths.
• Return to Tarapoto for lunch.
• Return to Shimiyacu.

DAY 4 – SHIMIYACU

• Breakfast from 8:00 to 9:30 am.
• Free day to visit the attractions of the corridor: Medicinal Plants, Orchids, Ayahuasca Museum, Animal Center, Colibris Garden
• Transfer to the airport at the appropriate time.
