5 days / 4 nights Santa Cruz trekking from Huaraz

It’s possible to start this trek from the other direction or to do in 4 days starting from Cashapampa and finish at Vaqueria.
The starting place depend on the acclimatisacion of the client, you can start from Cashapampa or Llanganuco, depending of what reservation exist in group.
The most famous of all the Cordillera Blanca Treks, with two high mountain passes where the trekker will have fabulous views of twelve peaks such as the Alpamayo, Huascaran, Chopicalqui and Taulliraju among others. The incredible trails reach 4,700 meters from where it is possible to appreciate the impressive snow covered peaks, a great variety of flora and fauna, in addition to many lakes, waterfalls, rivers, trails and camping areas.
Drive from Huaraz (3052 meters) to Caraz and then to Cashapampa village located at 2900 meters, where we will meet with our muleteer and his donkeys. Walk up the Santa Cruz Valley, following the river to camp at Llamacorral (3750m). walking time 4 to 5 hours
2nd Day : Llamacorral – Base camp of Alpamayo mountain – Taullipampa.
After the breakfast we will start our trek, during the walk up the valley you will enjoy of the Santa Cruz mountain (6259m) and also we go up to base camp of Alpamayo (5947m), this mountain is considered as “the most BEAUTIFUL mountain in the world”. We walk past three lakes Ichiccocha, Jatuncocha and Arhuaycocha. From our camp we have views of more high peaks as Taulliraju, Paria, Artesonraju, and Rinrijirca. Walking time 6 to 7 h.
3th Day: Taullipampa – Punta Union pass – Paria.
After enjoy of the landscape and have a Andean breakfast we will walk up to the pass of Punta Union (4750m) from where there are very close views of the surrounding mountains. After stay enough time at this amazing place and after make a thousand of pictures we will descend to the others side of the Cordillera Blanca, during the way we will past two small lakes (collcacocha, Tzakicocha), finally we will arrive to our next camp site Paria where our cook will be waiting for you with hot chocolate.
Walking time 6 to 7 hours.
4th Day: Paria – Vaqueria – Cebollapampa 3950m.
After recover all our energy and after have a delicious breakfast we will start to walk down the valley Huaripampa where we will see traditional and typical village, then walk up a little bit to Vaqueria village. After rest and packing our luggage we will go up by car crossing the second high pass “Portachuelo” where we will make a short stop to make a picture. Then we continue to our next camp site Cebollapampa
Walking time 4 to 5 hours.
5th Day : Cebollapampa – 69 lake – Huaraz.
In the morning early we will leave to visit this
Beautiful lake, then after having lunch and take a picture we descend to Cebollapampa. Where we will take car, during the descend we passed for two beautiful lakes Chinancocha and Orconcocha.
Walking time 5 – 6 hours. Then we continue to Huaraz.

The balance you will pay at our office in Cusco or Lima before the start of the trek. We accept cash USD or credit card (+5%)
What you should bring
-Personal sleeping bag, we rent these out if you need.
-Water bottle or micropur in order to purify the water.
-Sun Hat +sun-block.
-Personal clothing for trek and clothes for rain.
-Camera with extra batteries.
-Clothes for cold and warm weather.
-Emergency money and money for the tip to the guide cook and porters.
