As of June 1, 2024, prepare to live Machu Picchu as never before. The National Park will be transformed with 10 new and exciting circuits. Although the details can change, the adventure is guaranteed.

Latest Update

• On June 1, 2024, Machu Picchu is renewed with the introduction of 10 new circuits, replacing the old 5.
•  For those travelers with previously acquired tickets, equivalent options will be assigned in the new circuits.
•  During our high season, which includes from June 1 to October 15 and from December 30 to 31, the daily visitors will increase from 4500 to 5600.
•  To ensure optimal experience, circuit 1 and circuit 3 will have alternative routes to reduce congestion.
•  It is essential to acquire your tickets for Machu Picchu at least 60 days in advance, especially if you want to ensure an early entrance schedule. Demand is high and previous planning is key.
•  Note that only circuit 2 offers shared service; The others require hiring a private guide.
•  The ideal circuit selection will depend in advance with which you make your reservation to Machu Picchu.
•  Tickets for the Inca road must be acquired exclusively through official operators, with a limit of 500 daily permits for the 4 -day and 250 walk for the 2 -day walk.
•  We have implemented a stricter monitoring of the entrance schedules to improve their experience.
•  New Route 1: Exclusive access to the High Upper Terrace Observation Platform.
•  New Route 2: Exploration of the Observation Platform of the Low upper terrace and most of the lower ruins.
•  New Route 3: A selective tour of certain emblematic areas of the lower ruins.

New circuit in Machu Picchu #1

Discover Machu Picchu’s majesty from new heights with circuit #1, now divided into 4 exclusive routes. These routes are designed for those who seek to capture the panoramic essence of the upper terraces, not including access to the ancient city.

Experience two levels on the upper terrace, each offering the iconic Machu Picchu view from unique perspectives. In addition, three of these routes allow you to venture towards the Inca bridge or ascend to the Puerta del Sol, and for the boldiest, the Machu Picchu mountain walk is an unmissable experience.

New circuit in Machu Picchu #2

Circuit #2 is renewed with 2 different routes: the “Classical Route designed” and the “lower terrace route”. Both will guide you for a complete and close trip through the current city, starting with a rise to the upper “lower” terrace that still promises the emblematic view of Machu Picchu.

These routes give you access to the three most outstanding attractions of the park: the view from the upper terrace, the upper circuit in the city and the lower circuit in the city, ensuring a complete and enriching experience.

There are 2 options when choosing this circuit:
• Circuit 2 Route 2-A: as described above and including the ‘Guard House’ – one of the most popular spots in Machu Picchu (for the panoramic picture).CLICK

New circuit in Machu Picchu #3

For frequent travelers looking for an enriching experience, circuit #3 offers an immersion in the lower section of Machu Picchu. This tour begins with the impressive agricultural terraces, followed by a trip to the heart of the urban sector.

Among the jewels you will find are the water mirrors, reflecting the majesty of the environment; Pisonay Square, an ancestral road meeting point; the emblematic temple of the condor, which evokes the spirituality of the place; and the venerated sacred stone, mute witness of Inca history. Ascent to Wayna Picchu CLICK

One of the impressive mountain peaks surrounding Machu Picchu. This iconic promontory rises majestically on the Inca citadel, and its silhouette appears in innumerable photographs. The ascent to Wayna Picchu is done by a narrow and steep path, with a duration of 45 to 60 minutes, according to the rhythm of the walker. Upon reaching the top, a spectacular view of Machu Picchu unfolds in its entirety and the surrounding mountains.

Since the road is narrow and exposed in some sections, we recommend this walk for experienced and safe hikers. In addition, resistant shoes are essential to fully enjoy this experience.

Visiting rules

• At the entrance, every visitor must show their ticket and passport. Students must also present their valid International university student ID.
• Visit duration is generally limited to a maximum of 2,5 hours.
• The only exceptions are tickets for the surrounding mountain peaks Wayna Picchu, Machu Picchu Mountain, Huchuy Picchu as well as the new alternative routes to Inti Punku, Inca Bridge and Great Cavern (‘Gran Caverna’) which allow for a longer entry.
• The entry ticket entitles you to a single entry. It is not possible to leave and re-enter the citadel with the same ticket.
• It is recommended to have a tour guide accompany you on your first visit to Machu Pichu. However, it is not mandatory.
• What ID or documentation must I bring to enter Machu Picchu You absolutely MUST bring your passport and the information must correspond to the personal information on your entry ticket. You’ll have to present your valid University student card if you have purchased the discounted Student Entry Ticket. (only available under 25 years of age with valid University student card.)
• Machu Picchu is open to visitors daily from 6:00 to 17:30
• This can no longer be changed after it has been issued.
• There is a thirty (30) minute tolerance for entering the Llaqta of Machu picchu Perú. After this period, the visitor cannot enter the Llaqta of Machupicchu, except for reasons of force majeure or fortuitous event. duly demonstrated.
• You may not take large bags, groceries, and disposable bottles into the citadel.You can only carry one small bag with you.
• Walking sticks are allowed for physically challenged and elderly visitors (only if equipped with a rubber tip).
• Public restrooms are available at the entrance checkpoint for Machu Picchu, ensuring convenient access for visitors. However, it’s important to note that there are no toilet facilities within the citadel itself.
